chiamati con nome facile all mente indotta,
le Petralie, le citta far le pietre,
e distinti l’uno dall’ altro
da aggettivi topografici, senza lussi lirici
Petralia Soprana e Petralia Sottana
…La Soprana… quasi blu in lontananza,
Poteva ancor parer chimerical,
Incasellata nel cielo…

- Accenti, Corriere della Seri Lugio 30, 1950 Giuseppe Antonio Borgese

In a twist of rolling stock,
that was then with chiming of bells
and pitching of diligence
on wheels without tires, were, are,
almost hidden on arrival from a ledge of rocks,
two large villages
called by name all induced mind,
the two Petralias, the city made of stones,
and distinct from each other
from topographical, adjectives without luxuries houses
Petralia Soprana, Petralia Sottana
…The Sopranas ... almost blue in the distance,
Could even imagine opinion,
In a box in the sky ...
